TEDCO Supports and Invests in Unlock
Maryland-based startup receives TEDCO support through two separate engagements - Concept Capital program support and a Social Impact Funds investment
COLUMBIA, Md., (September 1, 2026) — TEDCO, Maryland’s economic engine for technology companies, announced recently supporting Our Unlock, a company developing a platform to capture unique data that will turn relationships into measurable intelligence. This support came through two different funding opportunities – one through the organization’s Concept Capital Program, providing the company with $25,000 in convertible notes, and a second through a $200,000 Social Impact Funds Investment.
“We're in the middle of the largest entrepreneurial wave in modern history, and the systems these companies rely on to build relationships haven't kept up," said Jared Cozart, CEO of Unlock. "Our relationship intelligence platform aims to give gives customers the context to act on the relationships they have and find the ones they're missing, so they sell more, raise faster and hire better. TEDCO's $225,000 funding allows us to expand our reach to more companies, and we're proud to be building Unlock here in Maryland.”
Unlock, located in Baltimore, Md., built its platform to solve a problem most growing companies face: knowing who in your network can open a door, and knowing which of those doors are worth knocking on. The company’s platform aims to connect to a company's existing system, surfacing contacts, timing, and context to support transforming scattered relationships into what may be more selling time per account executive.
“Relationship intelligence is a space with real demand, and Unlock early traction showed us a team ready to scale,” said Justin Ferguson, innovation manager for TEDCO’s Venture Development. “We're glad Concept Capital can support them to grow faster.”
TEDCO’s Concept Capital program was created to provide critical early-stage funding for tech companies in need of assistance to further launch and grow their business, allowing Maryland to become a hub for entrepreneurial success. “Our Unlock has developed the technology to help release additional value from established networks,” said Jean-Luc Park, deputy chief investment officer. “The company is an embodiment of the Social Impact Builder Fund SEDI focused mission.”
The Social Impact Funds were created to open opportunities for technology and life sciences-based entrepreneurs who are traditionally overlooked. Pairing funding with hands-on support, companies invested in are given access to mentorship, operational guidance and TEDCO’s statewide network, helping founders navigate early growth while preparing for future investment.
“Our Unlock is the kind of company Concept Capital and Social Impact Funds were designed to support — a Maryland-based team solving a real problem with a scalable technology platform.,” said TEDCO CEO, Troy LeMaile-Stovall. “Investing early allows companies like Unlock to build momentum here in Maryland, and that's what fuels a stronger innovation economy across the state.”
